Methodology

This list was compiled by SignalHire’s internal database, which stores all search commands given by legal users — mostly recruiters, salespeople, and marketing specialists — between May 2024 and April 2025. We selected for queries that target tech-oriented internship positions and tallied the total number of searches for each distinct city. The top five cities based on the search volume in the US, Canada, Australia, India and Europe were recorded to generate a list of 25 cities. In each city, we ordered the three most popular tech internship roles searched. This approach would show recruiter demand, it may be different from other sources because the SignalHire audience is different. Pay came from Glassdoor, and qualifications from publicly posted job requirements, such as those listed on LinkedIn.

Conclusion

The tech industry is booming fast so that interns find many new doors everywhere. SignalHire looked at search data from May 2024 to April 2025 and found the top 25 cities leading the charge for tech internships, like software development and data engineering.
